Prom for Teens with Disabilities!

The You & Me Club at Cerritos High School is planning to hold a Prom for students with moderate to severe disabilities who, for a variety of reasons, often do not have the chance to attend prom with their peers who are non-disabled.

The You & Me Club is a club on our campus that provides social opportunities and activities for our students with disabilities such as picnics, craft activities, and movie nights. 

These students hold a special place in our hearts because they do not see their disability, only the love they bring to everyone. Not only does the You & Me club give our students with disabilities a chance to practice social skills and integrate with their peers, but it opens the door for our students without disabilities to learn acceptance and compassion for students that may appear different on the outside, but are so much like them in many ways.

Our prom is the culmination of the year and has grown year by year from being held in a classroom, to now needing the school gym!

We hope to use the funds for the decorations, food, and entertainment for our Prom on May 19.
