Project Philippines ( School)

I recently had the opportunity to attend a mission trip to the Philippines. The community site that I was assigned to was in the city of Pontevedra, a few kilometers outside of Bacolod City. The small church in the center of my assigned community has a small school (grades 1-6) that it also runs on the property.
My heart broke when I saw the condition of the facility, and the incomplete school building that towers over the children’s heads daily. The school began construction on an additional two stories (roughly a year or so ago) that were intended to house the 7th, and 8th grade classrooms, but tragically, the funds from the previous donors ran out. When you see the condition of this facility I think you will agree that it is time they got some help. Myself and the other missionaries have decided to shoulder the burden and help the school raise the needed funds to complete the building, update their chalk boards and provide the school with a few sets of refurbished or new computers for the teachers and students; along with school supplies. Christian education is an invaluable asset to any community that champions it. Providing a wholesome development environment and a Christ-centered curriculum does more than just shape the future minds of tomorrow intellectually, it also instills morals in young lives that are so desperately needed in today’s corrupt world. The Philippine Islands are home to some of the most hospitable, humble, caring, and capable people in the world. To give these kids a fighting chance in the world with a quality Christian education, and to give the community a healthy and steady flow of quality future leaders is a gift that will last a lifetime. The amazing thing about your tax-deductible donation, is that it will double in value due to the exchange rate from U.S.D. to Philippine Pesos. So, if you gift $50, you are really blessing the school with $100. The school needs $1.8 million Pesos ($22,000 U.S.D.) to complete the construction and update the school. I would love to raise $2,500 US Dollars (or more) by December 1st, 2017 to contribute to the total campaign goal. Our mission is a simple one; help those who are less fortunate then us.
