Hands of Christ to Rebuild Homes

This project is to EMPOWER THE YOUTH to be the hands of Christ to those in need. As a full-time Youth Minister, I have a grassroots project in place in which a group of seniors are leading 20 underclassmen in an endeavor to bring about a better living condition to a family in need this summer. I do not believe in service by signup, but rather I live for the ENCOUNTER. Everything from the outreach in the community to the detailed logistics has been done through guiding these 17-18 year olds.
Imagine the following scenario of the family we are helping: You live in a low-income neighborhood and the rain storm from last year has had damaging effects on your home. The roof is heavily damaged and subsequently, both heat and cool air leave your home rather quickly despite the attempts to seal it properly. Meanwhile, another part of the home is stripped down to its structure due to the amount of water damage it has sustained. Your son is disabled from an accident, but spends a significant amount of his time doing what he can to repair the house. You have to worry, every time your son works on the home, that he might reinjure himself. It has been over 9 months and there is no speedy remedy for your situation. You humbly ask the local priest for help. You can only pray that things change.
We feel called to be that change this mother has prayed for. The revolving door of never having money to make repairs to a damaged home is a heavy burden. All the donations collected go to helping the families; this is neither a business nor a way to make a profit off the poor. All money will go to help the families. Please help us reach our goal of $15,000 in order to purchase the necessary supplies to complete our project. We need to reach this goal by June 1st!
