Project Trauma Support Cohort

This is my wonderful husband, Dave.  He is a Corrections Officer in Ontario, Canada, and has been battling work related PTSD for about 18 months.  He is such a strong person, a great husband and an incredible father, but we desperately need to get him help.  He has been unable to return to his career, and is working so hard on trying to overcome this battle.  This diagnosis has been incredibly difficult for all of us, our children see their dad struggling daily and don't understand fully what is happening.  I see the love of my life putting everything he has into surviving day to day.  He experiences nightmares and severe anxiety.  He is incredibly uncomfortable in crowds, to a point where it can be a struggle to get him out.  He has outbursts of anger, periods of deep sadness.  Our family and friends miss the Dave we knew before PTSD so much.    

We have learned of a program called Project Trauma Support Cohort, a potentially life changing treatment in Perth ON.  These cohorts are a week long residential program for Military Personnel and First Responders in need.  
Project Trauma Support was developed by Dr. Manuela Joannou, a physician who is an expert in moral injuries and PTSD.  We truly believe that this program can give my husband his life back, and give us back the man we depend on and love.  

As a corrections officer, WSIB does not cover the cost of the treatment program.  We are not usually people who ask for help, but we are asking now.  Please, if you are able to donate, any amount will help us send him to the program.  If you are not able to donate, thank you so much for reading this plea, and I ask you to share it.  My husband is an extremely private person, but has agreed to allow me to share some of his experience, in the hope that he can take part in the next cohort.
