Project Love Food Pantry

$3,400 of $45,000 goal

Raised by 25 people in 17 months
For over 28 years, Project Love Food Pantry has met the needs of thousands of families. The pantry currently provides food, paper goods, personal care items and cleaning supplies to over 50 families every week of the year.  There are estimated to be 5000 people in our service area (South Lake County Indiana) who could use our services.

We need a new building to keep up with our expanding need. Our old facility is a 2 bed-room house built over 60 years ago.  It was never intended to be used as a food pantry.   Our new building will be designed to offered space for food distribution, as well as space for classes and demonstrations, such as food preparations and how to stretch a family's food budget.  The building will be handicapped accessible in an effort to better serve our clients.  It will also offer an improved area to unload donations of food.

Project Love Food Pantry is a 501C nonprofit, and your donation is tax deductible.

Cost for the new building is $180,000.  We have $135,000 in cash and pledges, so we are $45,000 short of our goal.  Our hope is to demo the old building and break ground this spring for the new one.  Please be as generous as you can to allow us to meet our future needs.

Project Love is staffed by volunteers.  Any funds received above our construction goal will be used to offset our annual operations costs for food and other supplies.
Thank you for your prayers, consideration, and generosity.

Our project continues to accept donations as we grow closer to our goal of constructing a new building, that is handicapped accessible and will better serve the families of Cedar Lake, Crown Point, Lowell and the surrounding area of South Lake County, IN.

Trees have been removed, and currently the Cedar Lake Fire Department as well as Fire Departments from neighboring communities, are using the old building for training.

Your gift would be appreciated to help us complete this needed project to serve those in our community that are in need of assistance to help stretch their food budget.

Consider giving a gift to Project Love Food Pantry for Christmas! This food pantry has been faithful in providing food to residents in south lake County Indiana, for 30 years.
It's now the holiday season, and Project Love Food Pantry provided food to 75 families for Thanksgiving, and anticipates doing the same for Christmas. The food pantry is open every week assisting families with food, and personal care items.
Project Love is using a temporary location, while they continue to raise funds to build a new building, because of out growing the small 4 room house the pantry was previously operating from. Your help would be greatly appreciated! May you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
