PRISM - an LGBTQ feature film
THE STORY
Prism is a modern coming-of-age, love story, where a London city girl moves to the sleepy town of Jacksonville, North America and finds herself in a love triangle like no other.
Based on true events.
Being brought up in a wealthy English household left Aidan with little responsibility and a lot of freedom to go wild. After having the last and final argument with her mom, she is sent to live with her distant Aunt, in the rural town of Jacksonville, United States.
Working as a chef at her Aunt's diner she finds herself caught up in a new friendship, with girl next door and clumsy waitress Poppy. Having shared their stories of parties, boys and far to much mischief, they soon realize they aren't too different at all.
So similar in fact, they agree to share the dating privilege of bad boy and local ladies man Daniel. Of course this comes with its share of complications, leaving Aidan caught between her childhood sweetheart Jacob, and the dangerous excitement of Dan.
Having visited her Aunt as a small child, Aidan spent her summers playing in Jacob's back yard. They grew up together over the summers, and formed a tight bond, only to be questioned by her 10 year absence, returning to Jacksonville a very different girl.
The kind of girl that found dangerous excitement in a man like Daniel, and wasted no time in getting into trouble. As she catches a glimpse of her worst fears inside his eyes, Aidan realizes Dan isn't the man for her, if she knew who that person still was.
Whilst her and Dan's relationship took several turns, so did the girls friendship. Closer than ever, they somehow become enveloped in jealousy, anger, love and sex. Leaving them and us wondering which way they will turn next.
RISKS AND CHALLENGES
Having self funded the trailer for further interest and investment, it has taken a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication from everyone involved.
THE JOURNEY
"The script was written over 2 months, partly on my breaks between 17 hour shifts as a chef and then one solid week off work. Since then its been through several edits, amounting to approximately 10-15 drafts. It was then pitched to Director/ Writer/ Producer Nicholas Nathaniel, who turned out to be a god sent."
Fellow leading actress Laura Milano was cast and came on board as a Co Producer, and the three then started pre production, and cast the remaining roles.
"We have a very secure and talented cast and crew involved and are looking to take this project out to the masses, in terms of the indie film community."
Prism is an LGBTQ story which reflects real life circumstances, and is based on a true story.
"We thus, hope to reach film festivals such as Outfest, for further recognition and development."
"We are seeking investment, for a carefully calculated, ultra low budget feature film, which we hope to bring to the festival circuit in 2017/2018."
The rewards that reflect on the full length feature film can be distributed when we wrap the film and (in some cases) post production is complete.
