Save Princess The Pit

Princess The Pit is a 5 year old pitbull mix that has never had a chance of living a happy dog life until now. For her entire life she was isolated from the outside world. Before being rescued she was kicked, punched, pinched, choked, her ears were pulled as well as her tail. She has multiple scars on her right shoulder as a result of her abuser digging their nails into her skin. When we first rescued her she was afraid to use the bathroom as she would be punished for doing so in her past life. At times when we try to pet her she flinches and jumps because she is not used to being loved. With positive reinforcement and treats we are happy to say she has made some progress. Princess suffers from extreme anxiety and as a result of her fear she lashes out by attacking people and animals. Our goal was to find a shelter and safe haven for abused pit bulls where she could be trained, re-homed and given a second chance at life. Sadly, we have been turned down by multiple shelters because of her aggression, limited space, and the fact that she is not up to date with her vaccinations. Because of her behavior and history of attacking people and animals, many suggested she be put to sleep. We made a video the day before she was scheduled to be euthanized and we have received support and positive feedback. A few people suggested behavior training and we would like to give it a try. Behavior training is not cheap. We were able to schedule a free consultation with a trainer and would like to explore every option before making a final decision. Princess does not deserve a caged life. After all, she has been isolated her entire life. Along with training, Princess still needs her vaccinations, spay surgery, a vet visit to asses her overall health, dog food, bowls and toys. We are asking you to help us give Princess a second chance.
