Prim's Amputation Relief Fund

My dear friend, Thelma and her family need our help!! Tragically on December 27th, Prim, their beloved family dog, slipped out of the back gate and was a victim of a hit and run accident. A Cook County Sheriff vehicle hit Prim and sadly sped away without stopping to help. A kind neighbor witnessed the incident and took pictures of that van. Unfortunately, the license plate nor unit numbers are visible in the photos.
Prim was bleeding badly and rushed to the closest emergency vet group. This was extremely traumatic for my friend and her three children. Prim suffered a six inch laceration to her belly as well as three major fractures, one in her hip and two in her right hind leg.
Thankfully, we now know that there is no spinal injury, so euthanasia is off the table; however, it seems that amputating her leg will most likely be the only option to save her life and give her the best chance at happiness again. The good news is that Prim continues to be a little survivor with a huge will to live!
There have been many obstacles along this journey. The massive vet bills are adding up quickly and with the amputation surgery, they will be through the roof. All three of the kids have really stepped up, and it has been a nonstop, around the clock effort to keep Prim as comfortable as possible. There is a long road to recovery, but the first step is going through with surgery. Then the real healing can begin.
Prim deserves this second chance at life! And if you are an animal lover like me, you can only imagine how heartbreaking this has been for their whole family. Prim and her family will be extremely grateful for any help, as they try to move forward to a healthy and happy future, together.
