Priddy Farm Rebuild Fund

This page is set up for the best people I know.  On August 3rd, John and Maryann Priddy saw the 22 year effort of their Angus Beef Cattle Farm to Table business go up in flames.  Below, is the story in his words..

          "I Am That Little Guy.  I work a day job and raise Farm to Table Black Angus Beef.  We have come close to breaking even and do it for love of animals, open spaces, and hard work.  I had great equipment because it was well maintained, the barn was kept and cleaned after every use; but high hours get little return when you are in trouble. August 3rd started like any other day on the farm, heavy rain had damaged a stream crossing and it had to be fixed. We worked the equipment hard, same with us and all was good at the end of the day.  We washed, cleaned and put away the equipment like any other day.  It was 8 pm.  The neighbor woke me at 10 pm to say the barn was on fire, turned out to be the main barn with 22 years of tools and equipment.  All Gone. I do not even have a hammer or nail.
     We are down, wife is stressed but ok, livestock is ok. Thank you God.
     Hard work and faith got us this far and with your help, the little guy will rise, survive and keep the dreams of the small farmer alive.

The scope of damage from the fire is stunning in its devastation. The barns and everything contained within including tractors, equipment, tools, and bales of hay are gone. In addition, the insurance will only cover less than half of the total cost to replace and rebuild. Only one of the barns was covered by insurance, and the damage to all three is jaw dropping.  As of this posting, the Fire Inspector is still unable to determine the cause of the fire.
John and Maryann have spent their lives doing anything for anyone who asked.  I have seen them be generous to a fault and walk home hand in hand satisfied with their day. Their integrity, honesty, hard work. and sense of community is something they share with everyone.  I have watched them pour over 22 years of hard work, sweat, and determination into this farm.  Their efforts to create and grow their Farm To Table Angus Beef Cattle Farm business has been a lifelong dream. They have faced so many obstacles as many people do and yet they have persevered.  Now I am watching them face one of the toughest events in their life.  They have worked so hard and never asked for anything in return, ever.  As his sister, seeing what they are going through now makes my heart hurt and shakes me to my core.  I want to help them bring their dream back to life. Please help me help them.
