Just Looking for a little bit of help!!!!!
Many of you know that I have been challenged with receiving medical coverage. Three weeks ago I was finally approved for Insure Oklahoma. Insure Oklahoma is the State Medicaid. I didn't know I could get so excited about insurance but I am so grateful for it and I have started bringing my health up to date by scheduling routine check ups and lab work.
Insure Oklahoma does not cover optometry or dental. So this week I go into the general dentist office and find I am faced with a BIG- BIG - DILEMMA!!!!!!!!
TOOTH#30 is poisoning my system. The tooth has formed a abscess leaking infection into my blood stream!!!!! YIKES
The simple solution would seem, have it pulled, RIGHT? No, its not an option without a oral surgeon.....Way too expensive....You see the tooth has a root canal in it already. The root canal was done 37yrs ago and has gone bad and a restoration on the tooth has been recommended. The restoration root endodontic procedure would be done by my endodontist and the cost would be $1,300.00 to $1,600.00. The crown would be $600.00 more. To have oral surgery done would cost more than that.
I have researched dental insurance accepted here in Oklahoma by both my dentist and the endodontist and I can afford the $24.00 a month premium but the catch with that is the insurance holds a waiting period of six months on root canals and restoration. The tooth want last that long!!!!neither will I quite honestly. Taking antibiotics for 6 months is also dangerous. If there is anyone out there who is willing to donate to my cause, I greatly appreciate it and thanks for reading my story. I realize that I am not the only human facing these types of challenges and further realize that I want know unless I ask.
