The Silva's path to Neuro-Behcet's

Donation protected
Jacob is my 16 y/o nephew. The photos are of him and his family. His parents are Cort and Amber Silva and his younger brother is CJ (14).  Cort is a U.S. Army veteran. The photo of him in uniform is homecoming day, OEF 2012.
Jacob has been very sick, in and out of the hospital since September 2016. He was treated for sepsis in October (during hurricane Matthew).
In January he began having headaches, accompanied by high fever. He was diagnosed with meningitis and released. Upon further investigation by his PCP and neurologist, it was determined Jacob needed additional tests to figure out what exactly was wrong.
After nearly 3 weeks of imaging, dozens of labs, hundreds of questions, and a deadly flare-up, it was determined Jacob has a rare auto-immune disease that affects his vascular system, called Behćet's Disease (BD). The type of BD affecting Jacob manifested in his brain and brainstem, causing a stroke and multiple neurological, emotional, and physical changes.
Anything you donate will help the family. No gift is too small and you may give anonymously. I invite you to read the updates and be encouraged by their journey.
Thank you so much for sharing!
