Prayers for Ellie

Ellie Barry is a beautiful little girl who just celebrated her 4th birthday last week. Tragically, on the evening of March 29, she fell 30 feet from a window in a freak accident. She has suffered a brain injury, skull fracture, broken hip, pelvis and ribs. She also has a lacerated liver and contusions on her lungs. She was medflighted to UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA in critical condition. She had a craniotomy on Thursday morning to reduce swelling and remove excess blood pooling on her brain. She is being kept heavily sedated in the PICU. As of right now, we do not know the extent of her brain injury, or how long she will be in the hospital. She has been woken up briefly and was able to squeeze her hands when asked, so that is a good sign. We are just hoping and praying she wakes up and is the same happy little girl she was before the accident.
