I wanted to start this campaign for my brother and his family. His daughter kaydence has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. The tumor is the size of a tennis ball and she had surgery today. She has been out of it all day where they sedated her for the surgery, everything went well with getting a sample of the tumor, bone marrow and fluid from her hips and putting the port in. She has been sleeping on and off all day, she just recently woke up for a little while and I laid with her and got her to drink a bottle, first one she had all day, and daddy got her to eat some hamburger, so she has something on her belly with all the pain meds she is on. She doesn't seem to be in to much pain right now until she starts moving around. She has 3 incisions , one on her belly from the biopsy, one on her neck and chest from the port they put in for her treatments and vitals. She is being such a strong sassy little girl, she still has that little attitude lol which is fine with us because that shows that she is feeling okay. Tomorrow she will have some dye put in her port line that will be for her whole body scan on Thursday, and if she recovers okay by Thursday we will be able to go home. The samples of the tumor and bone marrow have been sent off for further testing so we know exactly what we are facing when it comes to stages of her cancer and what treatments she will need, one more thing she will need one more surgery hopefully it will be the last one, it will be to remove the tumor once it has shrunk enough to safely remove it, the risk is to high to remove it right now.
