Prayers and Support for Ayson and his family
It's difficult for me to do this, because I would like to protect my relatives' privacy as much as possible. But, after seeing Kate Allatt's story on YouTube, I thought that my cousin might be in the same situation, and I have to do this appeal for him and his family.
Ayson, his wife, Haydee, and 2-year old daughter arrived in Canada on Friday, Nov 2nd. They were very excited to get here, full of hope that they would have a new beginning as a young family in Canada. Two days after they arrived, Ayson suffered a brain stem stroke.
In the VGH emergency room, the doctors told us that he only had hours to live - he would not survive the damage to his brain. There was no treatment for him, and to operate would cause more harm than good to him. Ayson has been in a coma since then.
His doctors tell us that there has been no change in his condition since his stroke, although we want to believe that he has shown some signs of improvement, by opening his eyes, and moving his arms and legs. However, doctors say that those are involuntary reflexes. Nevertheless, we, his family, still believe that Ayson can hear us or maybe even feel us when we touch him, but just can't respond, perhaps due to locked-in syndrome.
His hospital bills are mounting, and, with no certainty that he will be covered by BC medical insurance (having arrived only 2 days before his hospitalization), this adds an insurmountable burden to his wife. It is in this spirit that I ask for your help, big or small. I also ask that you include Ayson, and his wife and daughter in your prayers.
If Ayson’s hospital bills get covered by MSP, we will refund your donation or, at your instructions, will donate the money to VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation.
We will continue to pray for God’s miracle in Ayson’s condition, and we know that there’s nothing impossible with God, only if we believe.
Sincerely,
Kathryn

Thank you very much for your continued prayers and generosity. We just received a formal letter from the government that all his hospital bills will be covered.
Right now he is approved to be released from the hospital when his condition stabilizes. Currently all his complications are gone; he is taking antibiotics only for his cough, but has yet to speak. His eyes are more responsive and lively. He has occasional movements in the legs and feet, and his face is more sensitive to touch.
Please let us know through private message to me or Haydee if you would like your donation to be:
A) refunded
b) donated
c) used for Ayson's rehabilitation and other related expenses
Again, our family is very grateful for your love and generosity. Let us please continue to unite in prayer for his full healing.
We will be closing Ayson’s gofundme account on Saturday, Dec 15th.
Sincerely,
Kathryn
