Kenzie's Medical Care Fund

Early October 2016 Mackenzie's parents noticed she had been "spitting up" more than usually so they started to monitor her more closely and around October 15, 2016 They noticed that she had been "spitting" up every time she would eat or drink anything. It was not a forceful regurgitation - it was just like a baby spitting up. Mackenzie is a 13 young lady who is a avid cheerleader for her school and also does competition cheering. Ever since October 15,2016 she hasn't been able to keep anything down she has had  2 Er visits because she was dehydrated and she has been in Brenner's for over a week now and has lost 2 lbs in 4 days in the hospital and a total of 13 lbs since Oct 2016. Since being at Brenner's Mackenzie has had a series of test and she has been diagnosed with "Gastrointestinal Motility Disorder"  - anyone who has seen the movie "Miracles from Heaven" this is the same thing this child has and Unfortunately at this time there is no cure. The only treatment at this time is symptamtic (feeding tube and managing pain) on Tuesday Feb 7,2017  they had to place a NG tube (feeding tube). She had to have this for feedings because her little body is tired and malnourished. The doctors have started the necessary steps to have her seen at Nationwide Children's Hospital I. Ohio where they have a team that specializes in GI Motility and her Dr here says that is the best choice for her. Once accepted there she would be there for approximately 10 to 14 days and they would determine if she was a candidate for the Gastric pacemaker. Please pray for guidance and that our King of all Kings will provide the family with the means to make this possible for her. This will be a life change for her and the family. Hopefully with the technology available, she will be able to eat regular food again
