Alexia's Closet was started with love and grief from the loss of our daughter/sister. It helped us as a family to come together, to have something to focus on and keep us moving forward. Over 6 years we went from a weekend project to full time business and it is amazing.
NOW WE NEED HELP. On April 25th the water rose quicker than anyone expected. We acted as fast as we can doing as much as we can to prepare. Sadly the water took the store. It has not yet crested but I know a large portion is lost. Two 40ft pods and a 15ft pod was also penetrated before we "abandoned ship". We will have to replace that inventory, clean the mud, repaint, wood walls and doors will need to be replaced.
BACK STORY-
In June 2011 (unaware at the time it was 6 months exactly from when we told her goodbye) we moved and opened our business in Halifax County. All we had was a couple of pick up trucks with inventory and enough cash to make a deposit on rent. We didn't know how it would work but we knew God had a plan. We never took out a loan , received a grant or used credit. We just allowed our business to grow by grace of God and support of the community.
We have come a ways since then growing and expanding.
We know God's plan for our family and our business is not over please help us to continue down this path.
I have been video documenting the store and the flood. This was recorded at 12 on Wednesday and river had yet to crest. I am sorry that I became emotional but this is my life and our second home. We are unsure what our future holds. We know it will be a lot of cleaning of the store itself. Then disposing all the inventory we were unable to save.
