HELP NILI WALK AGAIN !!

Donation protected
One day my amazing mother woke up with pain in her leg. I took her to the hospital right away and we had no idea what we were in for. Nili went to the hospital and after a cat scan the Doctor told us that they discovered a minor blood clot.

The Doctors informed us that Nili was going to be going through a simple 2-4 hour surgery. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened at all.

Nili went into surgery and came out 15 hours later. The Doctor informed us that there were a few complications but everything went well and the surgery was successful.

When Nili woke up the pain hit her like a truck at full speed and she began yelling for hours. The Doctors then took my mom into another surgery which lasted a few more hours.

We were then informed that everything went well and that she should be fine.

After waking up from anesthesia the pain got even worse, much, much worse. I have never seen my mother or anybody else in my life in so much pain. The Doctors informed us that it seemed like she is still clotting and they will most likely amputate her leg.

A few hours later Nili was transported from North Shore University Hospital to Weill-Cornell Hospital in NYC. The next few days that followed were devoted to saving my moms leg. Sadly, everything failed and Nili was in extreme pain for a week straight which led to the Doctors amputating her leg.

My mother Nili is a strong women. She cried every day for two months out of pure pain but she’s trying to stay strong and stay positive. Nili was always a woman who gave everything to others. She always helped any way she could and would give a stranger the shirt off her back and make them food if they wanted! She is the kindest, sweetest, and most selfless woman I know. It was hard for all of us to see her go through this. Myself, my sister, our entire family and everyone around her is trying to keep Nili happy and get over this unfortunate obstacle in her life. We even spent every Shabbat for two months straight in the hospital with my mom no matter what to keep her happy!

The money will be used to help Nili get a prosthetic leg that will get her walking again. We are currently working on minimizing 3 months of surgeries and hospital bills everyday. We also renovated our entire house to fit Nili’s needs and the work is not done yet. Our next steps include buying her a mobile friendly prosthetic leg which will allow her to bend at the knee and get her walking without a bad limp. Since Nili lost her leg high above the knee, she doesn’t have a knee to bend. With that being said, our cost for a mobile friendly leg increased dramatically. My family has been hit hard financially since this began and we need all the help we can get. Insurance barely covers the prosthetic which leaves us at no other option but to raise money.

WE HAVE A FEW MONTHS TO RAISE THIS MONEY FOR NILI! In a few months from now she will be 100% ready to have a prosthetic. My mom is currently working hard rehabbing to build strength. She is getting ready one way or another every single day for when we can fit her with a new leg. I cannot emphasize enough how important this is. This money will get Nili to walk again and feel like a person. Any contribution helps in this time of need.

Thank you so much to everyone who is sharing this story and helping our cause for my Mom!
