Since 2007, Morningstar Learning Center has filled a critical void in Big Sky’s basic community infrastructure by providing accessible, affordable early education childcare services. Less than a month after opening, Morningstar was fully enrolled, and it has remained full to capacity with a waiting list ever since. Our knowledgeable and caring staff is proud to care for Big Sky’s children from the time they are six-months-old until they make the transition to kindergarten.
Big Sky’s dynamic growth and the local “baby boom” have dramatically increased the need for our services—we regularly have families join the waiting list even before their little ones have been born. Local business owners consistently cite the lack of affordable housing and childcare as hurdles to hiring talented and long-term employees. Big Sky’s young families often work several jobs just to make ends meet and, in the past, the lack of consistent and affordable childcare has forced many families out of the community.
As a result of this increased demand, the Morningstar Board has decided to expand our facilities and add an additional building to our current location. The addition of this building will allow Morningstar to nearly double its capacity and support Big Sky’s continued growth and prosperity.
To kick start our Capital Campaign, an anonymous donor has provided a gift of $40,000 towards the new building. To take advantage of this gracious gift, Morningstar must raise a matching $40,000 by July 1, 2016. We are therefore turning to you—friends, neighbors, business owners, and all those who value the community we are building—to support our cause.
The critical importance of our project cannot be overstated. Join our vision and support the effort to provide affordable, quality early childhood education in an expanded facility designed to provide exceptional learning experiences and inspire lifelong community and environmental stewardship.
