Sousaphones for Poway H.S. Band

Broken, repaired, cracked, dented, soldered, broken, repaired, no longer repairable, pieced together..That is the story of our up to 30 year old sousaphones.  Poway High School Band is in DESPERATE need of new sousaphones.  Our students work incredibly hard and put in long hours to perform an outstanding show..However, due to the conditions of our sousaphones the sound of the band suffers.  Sousaphones are expensive, since they are $7,000 - $8, 000 each, we have not been able to replace them.  We have been given the chance of getting 10 new sousaphones this year.... We just received a donation offer of up to $34,000 if we raise matching funds. This is our one chance to get these sousaphones. Our goal is to have them for this marching season which only gives us a short time to raise the funds.  All 180 marching band students will be so grateful and excited to receive new sousaphones for the season. New sousaphones will make a HUGE difference in the look and sound of their show! Any funds over the $34,000 goal will be used to purchase/replace other instruments.
