Veteran Relief Fund

VFW Post 10859  raises Veteran Relief Funds throughout the year, including conducting two major Buddy Poppy distributions each year at Memorial Day and Veterans Day. 

Because of your Support to Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the VFW Auxiliary, we’re able to do more for our Veterans, Schools, Children, and Community.
Your Donations will enable VFW 10859 Post & Auxiliary to support Veteran & Community Programs and Charities such as:

 Sponsoring or supporting; Sea Cadets, Honor Flight Program, Wounded Heroes Fund, California Veterans Assistant Foundation, VA Clinic, School Projects; such as the Chess Club & Robotics Club, the National Home for Children,  “Next Step Service Dogs” for Veterans with PTSD.

 Yearly, we recognize and provide monetary awards to local Police, Firefighters, EMT, and Teachers.

 We organize essay contests; Patriot Pen for Middle school Students and the Voice of Democracy for High School Students.

 We organize a Patriotic Art Contest for High School Students.
 
 We participate in events in Bakersfield to bring awareness of Veteran Issues; such as Homelessness and Suicides.
