Polly's Surgery

$2,825 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 43 people in 18 months
On the evening of Sunday February 25th, whilst on our way to visit a neighbors house, Polly was hit by a fast moving vehicle. We rushed Polly to the closest emergency 24hr Vet who confirmed broken Radius and Ulna bones in her front  right leg. Polly also suffered from some bad wounds to her abdomen and legs. Thankfully she is alive and resting all things considered.

Polly loves running on the beach and playing fetch with her tennis ball. Hopefully after her surgery tomorrow, Polly will be back on the beach playing in the ocean within in a few months. However, this is going to be a long road to recovery. Polly is 7 years old, and i have had her since she was a puppy. Polly is my closet family. She is very sweet around other people, as those who have been around Polly can attest to this.

Over $1000 has already been spend on pre-operation fees including; x-rays, medication, blood-work and general wound care etc. However, Polly's leg is severely broken and requires immediate surgery. Polly is having surgery tomorrow at 7am on Tuesday February 27th in Melbourne, FL. The costs associated with this surgery are between $4000-$5000. I do not have anywhere near close to the savings to be able to pay for this, as i usually break even each month. In addition to applying for regular credit cards, which have been denied; I have applied for care credit (medical finance assistance) and only been approved for a maximum of $500.

Hey everybody! Want to update you after yesterday's surgery. Polly is doing really well! The surgeon said the removal of the metal plate causing the infection was a success :) Polly is resting up and i'm pleased to share that she is eating and drinking water like before! She will be taking a bunch of medicine for a while, and has to wear the cone of shame again lol We're looking forward to her bandage and cone coming off, and a return to walks on the beach soon :) thank you so much for all the financial support and love! Please continue to share on your social media. I will post an update with pictures when we get back to the beach!

Hey everyone! It's been 5 months since Polly had surgery in March, and we've had an interesting road to recovery. Recently the site of Polly's metal implant has become infected, and she needs another surgery to remove the hardware :( Really want this to be the last time we have to go through another procedure. It'll be great if this time Polly can stay fit and healthy. Please keep Polly and me in your thoughts and prayers! Surgery is taking place this morning, and it's going to cost over $1000! Please share and contribute financially if you can :) I recently moved to the other side of the state, as part of a job change. You can imagine the costs associated with moving, and now this financial burden is added into the mix. Not sure how to deal with it all really. We really love all the support you've given us over the past 5 months. Thank you :)

Hey! i know it's been a while since the last update. long story short, Polly had her stiches out 6 weeks ago and we got the all clear. However, Polly's leg become swollen and limp again shortly afterwards. We were then advised no walking until the end of April.

last week Polly had a check up and the vet's gave the go ahead for walking. The vet suggested we may have to remove the plate in her leg further down the line. However, Polly is super excited and enjoying the beach again! Thank you from both of us for your support, and please continue to share on your social media platforms.
