We're Marching in SF Pride Parade!

NOTE: Our GoFund campaign got shared a whooping 105 times, and a total of 25 people donated. We've reached our goal of $725 in a matter of TWO days! Thank you!

Committee for The Defense of Democracy (Komitet Obrony Demokracji - KOD) is a Polish grassroots movement, whose main objective is to hold the current ruling party, Law & Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość), accountable for it’s continued disregard for Poland’s democratic institutions & traditions. This article sums it quite well: The Party That Wants to Make Poland Great Again.
We, as Polish citizens, here & abroad, oppose the ongoing acts of oppression, hate & disregard for the law of the land. As our anthem goes: Poland has not perished yet as long as we live! Thus, we've registered to participate in San Francisco's Pride Parade, to bring awareness to the issues abroad - especially the physical acts of hate that have been intensyfing over the last year! However, we cannot do this without your support.
The SF Pride Parade fee ($114) + Clean-up Fee ($50) + Liability Insurance ($65) add up to $229. We'll be walking as a contigent, on foot, so those costs are kept to a minimum. However, we're aiming to have the following items, that would allow us to effectively send out our message to the world, and here, locally in the heart of the Resistance: Bay Area.
We're looking to get the following:
- flags (LGBT pride flag(s), Poland's flag(s) & European Union's flag(s))
- flyers (with our message, ways to connect, action items, etc.)
- signs & banners (2-4, size might vary, message to be determined)
- t-shirts (10-15, two sided, design pending)
- duck costume* (rental)
These costs cannot be *exactly* pinned down at the moment, as they vary depending on volume, and the deals we'll get. By a rough estimate, they'll add up to about $500. Any amount helps!
If our goal will be exceeded, or we won't utilize the whole amount, we'll donate the remainder to Poland's two LGTBQ non-profits:
