So, as many of you know, I have been fighting a serious and tough legal battle for the past year and three months now involving my other dog, Roxie. It has been very hard for me emotionally, mentally, financially, etc but I still fought. Now for those of you who don’t know- fighting animal control in court, you are almost guaranteed to lose Because animal control does not lose. Everyone told me I was crazy and to just give it up, I was asked why I bothered, etc etc.
With that being said, I received some news that I quite honestly wasn’t sure I would get- I WON, AND ROXIE GETS TO COME HOME!!!!!!!!! She’s mine to take home, she’s free to go. I’m still in disbelief. Thank you so much to the people who supported me, kept checking in on the status of the cases, etc.
BUT (because you know there’s always a catch), animal control will not let me take her unless I pay almost $7400 in expenses- $15/day for every day she spent in their care, as well as almost $700 in medical bills. They won’t even consider adopting her out, even to a rescue. The supervisor is making things as impossible as she can for me. I know it’s a terrible time to ask for donations being the holiday season but she’s only giving me until 1/12/2019 or I lose my rights and she will most likely put Roxie down, seeing as that’s all she’s been wanting to do since day one.
So, being a single mom to Eliana and just making ends meet as is, I obviously don’t have this kind of money which led me to trying a gofundme once again. I refuse to let them kill her after fighting this long and this hard for her.
