Help a brave heroine battling CRPS

Donation protected
Jordyn is a CRPS survivor who is in need of our help. Very sadly, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is more commonly known as the “suicide disease,” because it is the worst pain condition known to man, according to the McGill Pain Index. More painful than childbirth or amputation without medication. Because of the unbearable pain, 70% of patients who have been diagnosed with CRPS have attempted suicide.

Jordyn was admitted into a long-term clinical trial in PA last year, which the family was very thankful for, but mom and dad still face medical bills while Jordyn still faces a lifetime of uphill complications and pain, which the medical world seems to be struggling to understand. While most of us can’t help in that area, we can help this beautiful young lady with a different burden.

Academics as a Marine Biology student are hard enough, but they are close to impossible when fighting the complications of CRPS as well as the results of the numerous medicines she needed for pain control as well as mental health. Because her meds impaired her academic abilities, Jordyn slowly worked at the painful process of weaning off of all meds. It took a full year, riddled with side effects, but she was successful. But not before loosing financial aid and scholarships that simply go by the bottom line numbers and don’t consider the brave heroine behind those numbers.

Then Jordyn had an injury this spring and lost her f/t summer job, loosing the income she planned to use towards her school bill.

Finally, this week she heard that her one "guaranteed" scholarship had lost her information, misplaced her paperwork, and had no funds to offer her this year. That’s when I decided this poor lady could really use our help.

Please, consider how you can help this brave young woman get back to her studies. If this campaign is successful and reaches it's goal, Jordyn's academics, room & board & fees will be covered for this school year and she can again work towards her lifetime goal of becoming a marine biologist. She hopes being off of neurological meds will enable her to get her her gpa back up to the 3.95 she had before CRPS. Yes, Jordyn will be fighting a life-long battle against pain, which even modern medicine doesn’t have an answer for, but if you feel led to donate in some way—either monetarily or in your prayers—we can make a difference in this brave young woman’s life today.

By the way, Jordyn felt really funny about this and hated me asking for help for her, so she and her sisters hatched a plan… in honor of Jordyn’s love of art, and the fact that she loved delivering therapeutic art kits to children’s hospitals over the years (long before she herself had to spend so many visits in an ICU), they will donate an art kit to a children’s hospital in your name as a thank you for your a donation.
