Jo Falber needs our help!

Hey everyone!  I’m reaching out asking for help for the one person that always helps everyone else.  Our beloved Johanna Falber needs our help.  As many of you may or may not know, Jo has had a rough year on a personal level.  Despite that fact, she has continued to be a beacon of light in our communities and in this city.  She is a champion for those in need, those without homes, without food, without resources for their children, their pets, our beloved pit bulls, the lost souls of our community who feel they have nowhere to turn.  She helps folks from falling down every day.  She gives people hope that they can make it, and she makes it so that they actually do survive.  She makes the believe and understand that they can do this, when “this” seems nearly impossible.  She tirelessly gives her time, energy and money selflessly every single day.  Well, this time Jo needs our help.  She is going through a divorce and is unable to keep all of the balls in the air for herself.  She is a single woman trying to take care of herself, her precious dogs and her community.  She has given so much to all of us and our community, can we please help her?  She is in transition and finding it impossible to juggle everything until she can get out of her home and into a more manageable financial situation for herself and her pups.  Her beloved Gemmie has a medical issue.  Her pups need veterinary treatment.   She is just trying to survive, like all of us, and she is falling further and further behind as the obligations with which she once had help, she now has to tackle on her own.

Jo would never ask for help.  That is why I am doing it for her.  She didn’t want me to do it.  She is embarrassed.  She is scared people will think poorly of her for needing help.  She has said it over and over in the community that people are afraid to ask for help because they are afraid of being judged, and yet she helps every day without judgment.  Now, she finds herself in a similar spot, afraid to ask for help, for fear of what people will think of her.  Let’s show her we not only believe in her and her mission in the community, but that we believe in her and support her in her time of need, without judgment.  She is doing a massive sale in June of all of her belongings, purses, shoes, anything she can sell in order to help make ends meet.  She is moving in a young couple to help defray the costs of her home (which will also help them because they are struggling under a hefty rent payment).  They can’t move in until July.  We need to help Jo now.  She asked me to please not judge her, but that she didn’t blame me if I do.  I told her she’s crazy if she thinks I would sit in judgment of her for being human, falling behind like we all have at one point or another in our lives.  We have all been in that place where we need help and are afraid to ask.

Who helps the one who is always helping everyone else?  Who helps that person from falling down and gives them the hope they need to push through each day?  We do.  I hope each and every one of you can dig deep and support our girl. It’s time.  She needs us., and her need is emergent.  Please donate if you can.  No amount is too small.  Thank you so much!
