Hello Family and Friends of Team Perspective,

My name is Davina Reid (from Oakville, ON) and I, along with my husband Marlon Reid, are coaching and fundraising to support our son Dylan's Business Case Competition team again this year.

Last year many of our family and friends made donations to help Team Perspective, representing Toronto, Canada as an 'At Large' team, to compete in the National Black MBA Association's (NBMBAA) Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Business Case Competition that was held in Chicago. The team is back again, as graduating high school seniors, to compete for their last time.

Last year Dylan, Richael and Sandra represented Toronto/Canada very well at the competition and made us very proud by making it to the semi-final round.  They vowed to return again in 2018 with the goal of going all the way to the final round, with hopes of winning the competition!

This year the competition is being held in Atlanta, Georgia at the Scheller School of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech).  The students will participate in both the NBMBAA's LOT Summit and Business Case Competition  taking place June 27-July 1, 2018. The students will literally be getting on a plane the day after their high school graduation to head to Atlanta to compete.

This year we are very fortunate to have 3 Associates from the firm of Boston Consulting Group (BCG-Toronto Office) coaching the team members. We'd like to thank Anton Sylchenko, Ruhama Qadir and Malik Ismail from BCG for their expertise, direction, efforts and contributions with coaching our team!

We need to raise $6,000 and the funds will be used to cover the following expenses:
-Summit and Business Case Competition Registration Fees
-Accomodations
-Food
-Airfare
-Transportation to and from airports
-Suits/Apparel for Competition

Here are a few  words from each of the team members to ask for your support and express their appreciation:

Dylan Reid
My name is Dylan Reid and I am a grade 12 student at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Oakville. I am one of the members of 'Team Perspective' competing in this year's NBMBAA Business Case Competition. I am yet undecided what I'll be doing in the fall whether starting University or taking an extra year to upgrade and write the SATs but I plan to pursue a B. Comm degree at University. My other interests include Photography, Tae-kwon Do,  and my various entrepreneurial pursuits. I am looking forward to competing in the business case competition again and we really think we can go all the way this year! Your support is greatly appreciated as we would not be able to participate without your generous donations.  Thank you so very much for supporting our team!!! It means more than you can ever imagine.

Richael Oppong
My name is Richael Oppong and I am also a grade 12 student at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Oakville. I am one of the team members participating once again in this year's NBMBAA Business Case Competition, representing Toronto. I recently accepted an offer of admissions to Carleton University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Criminology degree with a concentration in law and will be starting in September. My other interests include athletics, mock trials and debating. I enjoy travelling and the LOT summit and business case competition provides me with an opportunity to travel and meet new people. Please help support our team by making a donation. Thank you!  Wish us Good Luck!!!

Sandra Kenne
Hi! My name is Sandra Kenne and I am a grade 12 student at Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School in Milton. I am one of the Toronto team members participating in this year's NBMBAA Business Case Competition. I am a very athletic person as I play rep rugby and also track and field. I am also very literate and good with my words, having been on several debate and mock trial teams in addition to the Business Case Competition last year. I have recently accepted an offer from McMaster University to pursue a joint degree in Economics and Computer Science. My other interests include creating and editing videos, cooking and writing. I am bilingual speaking both French and English. Finally, I love to travel and experience new cultures and places which is one of the many perks of this LOT Summit and business case competition. It would be very appreciated if you could help support our team by providing us with a donation. Thank you for your encouragement and support!

Our fundraiser campaign will run until the end of July and we are happy to accept donations post competition to cover the costs we have had to cover out of pocket.

Our heartfelt thanks for your support and donations.  We would not be able to participate without all of your contributions.  Words of encouragement are also welcome and appreciated :-).

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
