Please save my dog, Titus.

Donation protected

My dog is dying.

Titus is a 18 month old, potcake dog. He has been  diagnosed with Primary (idiopathic) immune-medicated hemolytic anemia (IMHA). A dog of his age to getting this is extremely rare. When I asked the doctor, they literally said it was just bad luck that he got this. If anyone is unfamiliar with this, this autoimmune disease makes his own immune system attack his red blood cells and slowly kill him. They don't know why this is happening, all they can do is temporarily stop his immune system with medication, allow his body to increase his blood count and then get the after care to be stable through all of it.

His entire body is inflamed, he has a fever, and is currently in the hospital. He needs blood transfusions, steroids and IV fluids, along with medication to keep him going, as he's not eating. The specialist says that there is a chance he can survive and get better, but there needs to be a wide array of medical procedures, all of which are very costly.

The funds will 100% be used for any medical procedures that I can't cover. All the procedures such as the hospital stays, the blood transfusions, the ultrasounds, and the steroids to help his body. I need the funds as soon as possible. My pet insurance covers only a portion of the medical bills and it all adds up to thousands of dollars. Titus is currently in the hospital and the doctors are putting him on treatment, so I don't want to delay any procedures.

I love him so much. I rescued him from the Durham Humane Society and raised him since he was three months old. He's been a part of the family ever since, and I look at him as my son. I can't put it in words how much i love him. We do everything together, he's my whole world. We eat together, sleep together, play together and spend all the time in the world together. I don't want him to go, i love him so much. He's just a baby at 18 months, and he has so much life to live.

We spent Christmas together as I got him toys he ripped up. On Thanksgiving he eyed the turkey we ate, and on his first birthday we took him to the dog park for his first time. Since his graduation from puppy training, to the long treks in the woods, he has bonded with our family and became a family member.

Please someone help him. Words can't express how grateful I will be to anyone who donates. The selflessness of anyone who donates to help Titus survive will hold a permanent place in my heart.

Please save my dog. Please.

Costs:

I will be as transparent as possible with the costs:

Titus is admitted to the Toronto Veterinarian Emergency Hospital. One night stay over there is 600$, and Titus is going to stay there for 3-5 days. He also needs steroids, which costs around 500$, as well as blood transfusions, antibiotics and IV fluids that equal to around 6000$. There also needs to be medication if Titus is stabilized, as over the next weeks and months will require visits to the hospital.

I have pet insurance which will cover a chunk of the 6000$, but not all of it. In addition, the ongoing medical bills will require a substantial amount of money. We already made a down payment to the hospital in the amount of 2500$ on Feb 9th, 2019, as the rest will come after the visit.

Update Feb 13th: Around 6000$ for the total. Aftercare will cost 800$ per month for around 4-6 months.

This whole procedure is looking to cost around 10,000$ at max. Pet insurance covers some of that, but we need the funds to cover the rest.

Further updates will follow as the days go on.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated or shared this page around. Thank you so much.
