We are going to the JRDA Championships!!
We at Quad City Rollers Junior Derby are completely overcome with amazement and joy. We started out this roller derby season as an unranked team. Our goal was to make it onto the JRDA map and become ranked. It wasn’t easy. It took a lot of time, practice, effort, and travelling. However, we did it. We went from unranked to #14!
What a proud and exciting day that was for us! And the excitement is not over! A few days ago we received an invitation from JRDA to compete in the Championship games in Pennsylvania on July 20-22. The Championship games! They invited us to play against the best! To play against the top 10 open-division teams in the nation! To say we are in shock is an understatement. We were not expecting to reach so far in one season.
This is where we need a bit of help. While we have fundraisers scheduled for the future, we do not have time to successfully plan, promote, and fundraise for 20 skaters and parents expenses to go to Pennsylvania in 7 weeks. We would be forever grateful if you could donate to us. No matter how small amount, it would certainly help relieve some of the immediate financial burden this puts on our families.
