Please help Roddie get some quality of life.

This is my dear hubby Roddie. Years ago he joined the Australian ARMY and was a fit and healthy young man and a proud and dedicated soldier. Unfortunately he suffered a spinal injury during his service...an injury which is not only degenerative and extremely painful, but one which has now landed him permanently in a wheelchair.
Seven years ago, his spine gave way again completely compressing his spinal cord which required emergency surgery to relieve spinal cord compression. Well surgery didn't go as planned and not only could they not completely decompress his spinal cord, as a result of surgery he lost bladder function and suffered other serious debilitating injuries.
Not only does Roddie suffer some very serious medical conditions, he is also missing an enzyme in his liver so his body can't metabilise the drugs which are used to control nerve pain...so he feels it all.
Roddie spent over 5 years bedridden in either a chair or bed at home before he finally received an electric wheelchair.
One day Roddie got a call that is mother was very ill. She is very frail and very sick having had to battle breast cancer, angina, type 1 diabetes, shoulder injuries and other medical conditions. Roddie bought a flight ticket as soon as he heard ...but as he was buying the ticket, the airline told him that his model electric chair was not permitted on airflights.
We quickly looked around for a wheelchair which was allowed on flights and eventually a dear friend loaned him one.  The problem is that due to his injuries, Roddie can't push himself on a manual wheelchair. As I can't fly with him, he had to go alone.
So here was my dear sweet hubby, 2 states away and in the middle of the airport...alone... pleading with strangers as they passed him by to please push him to the bathroom, and to please push him to get his bags and help him to the taxi. People are very busy at International Airports, and people are often too busy to stop and help. Eventually he was able to get help and got to his mother's house...but then he was unable to push himself around her house.
Roddie's dad passed away several years ago now and he didn't get there in time to see him before he passed...I don't want him to miss spending time with his mum while he can; and while he is well enough to go and see her.
So here I am asking for help on behalf of my veteran husband to buy him an electric travel wheelchair as soon as possible so that he can go and see his mum when he needs to.  A chair which will fit in any car so he can go out with family and friends and a chair which will give him independence to move freely while he is well enough to do it.
I have tried very hard to save the money for this chair, but as hard as I try, I haven't been able to. I am a fulltime carer and charity worker...neither of which pays anything that I can save. So here I am ...a little embarrassed to ask to tell you the truth... humbly asking for help to buy my beautiful and kind husband a travel wheelchair so that he can not only visit his lovely mum, but so he also never has to feel the humiliation of begging for help again. He deserves the dignity and right to independence that a travel wheelchair will provide while he wwell enough to use it.
The wheelchair is $2450 ... A genuine heartfelt thankyou for anyone who is able to donate and help get this chair for Roddie.
Thank you :)
