Hi guys, I’m Gemma and I’m so sorry to ask this again but, I really need your help to get groceries for next few weeks and for most of July.
As many of you may or may not know, I’ve been struggling these past few months, literally since the new year in January, because I’ve had my welfare benefits revoked under the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned and due to my mental illnesses and my inability to do daily tasks without support, I had to attend a WCA/Health Assessment (evidence) and my benefit was sanctioned and reassessed because of these new standards, which has caused me to struggle with my bill payments and to get groceries/household supplies, with absolutely no income. And then to make matters worse, a few days ago, I received a letter regarding my WCA appeal.
The letter stated that the reconsideration for my WCA appeal has been disallowed and I will not be awarded any further help (mental or disability aid) and that if I think the decision is wrong, then I must appeal in writing to a tribunals service within one month (evidence can be provided).
This is absolutely devastating news for me because I have been fighting to get help from my government for the past 6 months, all without success and I’ve been drowning in debt because of it. I can’t even afford to buy food at the moment.
The previous Gofundme I made took a high percentage of the funds from me, but I did manage to pay off some of my debt and now all I need is to get groceries for the next few weeks and some upcoming bills until maybe I can get this decision appealed.
If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1, it would literally save my life and sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Nobody has to donate if they can’t or don’t want to, I know we’re all struggling.
