KEEP HOPE ALIVE for Nayeli

Dear Friends and Family,

Meet Nayeli Navarro.  This beautiful little girl is 3 and a half years old, lives with her family in Long Beach, CA, and Nayeli needs your help today.

Some call her Super Girl….Nayeli considers herself a NINJA! And we guarantee you: she will fight like no other and is prepared to WIN her battle against Neuroblastoma Stage 4 Cancer.

Nayeli’s family, Shannon, Pedro and her six- year old brother, Hugo, were given devastating news last week. In a period of three weeks Nayeli experienced recurring fevers, leg pain, bloody noses, night sweats, exhaustion and appetite loss.  These symptoms all started to take on a life of their own for little Nayeli. Trips to Urgent Care, the ER, and finally diagnostic tests at Miller Children’s Hospital all led to Nayeli’s diagnosis.  The news that Nayeli’s family received has changed their lives forever.

On November 16th, Nayeli was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer that metastasized to her bone marrow.  These are words that no parent ever wants to hear about their child. Scans proved that Nayeli is at a very high risk point. The cancer source is unknown. Doctors recommended the family not give up, and chemotherapy treatments had to start immediately (just five days from admission to the hospital). Chemo is projected to take at least a year to 18 months, with each dose increasing in intensity. There is a very long road ahead.  Luckily Nayeli is a strong and courageous 3-year old. Nayeli’s family is looking for the best outcome and any/all options for their daughter’s long term wellbeing.

Life as they know it has changed in an incredibly short time. Nayeli will not be able to go back to preschool and her brother, Hugo, will need child care before and after school. Shannon (Mommy) will not be able to work any longer and must stay in the Hospital by Nayeli's side each and every day. Pedro (Dad) is a public high school teacher who attends graduate school in the evenings.  Unbelievably, during the course of Nayeli’s diagnosis, Pedro’s mother (“Tita”/Grandma) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.  This is a family in intense grief and need.  With only one income to support them, the uncertainty of medical expenses, treatment, travel costs, child care costs and basic house hold necessities, we ask for your help.  During this challenging time, we want to help by taking their financial and logistical burdens off of their plates.  We hope to raise enough money to offset their loss of income and help with the added expenses.

How can you help?  Your consideration and support would mean the world to Nayeli and her family.  Hope and prayers are welcome!  Little Nayeli must stay focused on her FIGHT against Stage 4 Neuroblastoma.  The remainder of the family has to find a new normal while making ends meet and dealing with tremendous emotional, physical stress and turmoil.

Thank you for helping Nayeli build her story of survival.

Please spread the word, and donate to support Nayeli and her family today!
