Please Help Bruno Brown Beat Cancer

Hi! My name is Sarami Soler and I’ve created this GoFundMe page to raise money for the veterinary medical bills for my friend Bruno Brown Corea. Bruno belongs to my good friend, Alyssa Corea. Bruno is an amazing six year old pitbull/boxer mix. Alyssa has had Bruno since he was eight weeks old and from the time he was a young puppy, Alyssa knew Bruno was a very special dog. Bruno is a TWO TIME CANCER SURVIVOR! Unfortunately, in June 2018, Alyssa found another mass on one of Bruno’s legs. Testing determined that the mass is in fact a malignant mast cell tumor. Both Bruno and Alyssa are a constant source of comfort, stability, and unconditional love for each other. Alyssa would do anything for her dog, but the financial burden has become too much to bear. Bruno’s Past
Bruno was diagnosed with severe allergies before his first birthday and as a result he has struggled with multiple medical conditions throughout his short six years of life. He is allergic to many everyday elements in our environment, such as: grass, mites, mold, trees, and weeds. Thankfully Bruno is a city dog, because he is also allergic to sheep and feathers!
Due to his allergies, Bruno has had to rely on medications, such as antihistamines and antibiotics, since puppyhood. Alyssa even gives Bruno allergy shots at home at the recommendation of Bruno’s canine dermatologist. These medications are a part of Bruno’s daily routine, which have led to a compromised immune system. Bruno’s compromised immune system has caused him much pain and suffering from conditions such as: bacterial infections, leg edema (swelling to where Bruno sometimes struggles to walk), easily abraded and infected paws, reduced healing abilities, recurring cancer in the form of mastocytoma or mast cell tumors.
Bruno’s Present
As mentioned above, Bruno has developed another mast cell tumor. The tumor is located on his left hind leg, very close to his Achilles tendon. The location of this tumor is a surgical challenge, so Bruno’s regular veterinarian recommended he see a veterinary surgery specialist.
On July 13, 2018 Alyssa took Bruno to the surgery specialist. Due to the location of the tumor, the specialist also thought it was too difficult to take on surgically. At that time, a canine oncologist was brought into the discussion.
The canine oncologist recommends Bruno undergo a biopsy procedure to determine the grade of the tumor. The doctor would also test the lymph node in Bruno’s leg. This testing would help plan the next steps for Bruno’s care. As surgery is not an option at this time, Bruno will likely need radiation and/or chemotherapy.
As of July 18, 2018 Bruno has not undergone this testing.
