Please Help a Community's Cat!

Meet The Cat. While she doesn't have a formal name, she is many things to many children.

See, this cat lives at the local recreation and community center where I work. This community center serves as a hub for many of the resident children, most from low-income or foster families. We provide after school snacks, crafts, a gym, and an overall place for kids to just relax with friends and enjoy themselves.

Among all these things, one thing the kids love seeing whenever they come to our center is The Cat. Every kid has their own name for her (personally, I call her KitKat Paddywhack). Whatever they call her, every visitor greets this lovely cat, who loves roaming the building and being scratched by our young guests who adore her. Dubbed the center’s mascot, she truly is the heart of the community.

Unfortunately, she disappeared a few days ago only to return with a large wound on the left side of her tail. She was clearly in pain and it was so infected it was oozing and even starting to turn green. After a bit of coercing and force, I was able to take her to the vet where they are going to clean her up and, hopefully, send her back home soon.

As a part-time employee, I cannot afford the entire bill otherwise I would not be here. While I had to pay all of it upfront out of my own pocket, I had to put it on a credit card, which I will of course have to pay later. I myself adore this cat. She has been there longer than I have been working there and has even helped me through some hard times. I recently lost someone dear to me and when she found me crying she never left my side.

The money, which has basically already been spent, will simply go to reimbursing the money I spent that I don't have. With my current salary, it'll take me years before I can pay it off.  But with your help, I can pay it off quickly and make sure she stays healthy for years to come.

The Cat means so much to so many people in this small community and it would help us out a lot if you can pitch in whatever you can, that’d be great! Please help our beloved feline! Thank you!
