The past couple of months have been a very exciting time here at Play For More Sports . So many things that were once just ideas and dreams are starting to take shape and become realities!
We have locked in our 4 official Sponsored Causes! Read about them here .
Our online store is now live with our first set of products, including our first 2 sport specific lines: Ultimate and Disc Golf.
We have received our first few orders!!!
We are in the final stages of development with our dynamic member portal that will allow all of you to create your own profiles and show the world how you are Playing For More! Read more about that here.
We feel incredibly blessed and humbled that God has brought us this far along the journey already but we are not done yet!
Now that the infrastructure for Play For More nearly complete we are looking forward to the remainder of 2018 and into 2019 as we try to grow our visibility and reach so that we can really begin to make an impact on the world through the work our Sponsored Causes are doing, and inspiring as many athletes around the world as possible to do the same.
We are excited about PFM's potential and are confident that God will use us to make a positive difference in the lives of people in ways we haven't even dreamed of. We truly believe that the platform of competitive sports can be used as a powerful catalyst for impacting real change in the world. How quickly we can reach that potential is highly dependent on our financial ability to market ourselves and pursue the projects that we have planned.
To date PFM has been entirely funded out of our own pockets and we will continue to do so as we are able. We are also planning to run a few fundraising events in the near future. However with our limited personal resources alone we cannot pursue all of the growth strategies and projects we are planning as soon or as aggressively as we would like to.
To reach our goals we need your help! We are asking anyone who believes in what we are trying to accomplish here at PFM to consider partnering with us financially. One of the heartbeats of PFM is creating impact through community. While Play For More Sports is officially a for profit organization for tax purposes, we exist solely to raise awareness and funding for our Sponsored Causes and to encourage others to do the same for causes they care about.
For the team here this is purely a labor of love and the pursuit of what we believe God is calling us to do. No one at PFM takes a salary from the organization and we intend to keep it that way.

We are committed to donating at least 40% of all of our sales to our 4 Sponsored Causes. Our financial goal is for our sales volume to be high enough that the remaining profit will be able to cover our operating expenses. Anything in excess of that will be split between additional donations and growing the organization.
To help us grow to the point where we are self funding here are the projects and expenses we are asking for you to help with!
Promotional expenses: ~$1500
Our biggest need right now is brand recognition. In order to begin to make the kind of impact that we want to people need to know who we are. Athletes can't partner with us through their own competitive pursuits if they don't know that we exist. None of our marketing efforts are about making us famous or getting a pat on the back for what we are doing. It is all about being able to impact the lives of as many people as possible!
To do that we will be working with Glory Visuals to create promotional video content as well as informative videos so we can clearly communicate who we are, what we are about and how we do what we do. These will help us connect with our audience on a more personal level and will simply be more effective that text based promotions. Let's just be real, most people stopped reading this post a long time ago but would have been more likely to watch a short video with the same content.
We will also be developing promotional materials like informative brochures, signage, banners, etc., to be used at the events we attend.
Finally we will be running ad campaigns on various media platforms. We will be using paid promotions through social media, especially Facebook and Instagram. Additionally we will be pursuing ad spots during sports programming. This will begin in Ultimate and Disc Golf as that is the sports we know and where we have connections. They are also the avenues we will be most likely to be able afford at the start.
Branded Gear: ~$3000
It's an unfortunate fact of doing retail business, in order to be able to sell things and bring in revenue you must first have something to sell.
For most of our apparel sales we are incredibly lucky to have secured a partnership with the Disc Store that allows us to purchase and print the items we need as we sell them. Since we do not have to purchase large quantities of apparel at once we have greater flexibility to offer more styles and designs without having to carry a large amount of inventory.
However, for other branded gear such as water bottles, custom disc golf/ultimate discs, towels, promotional items like stickers etc., we do have to order in bulk. We can only add these items to our product mix as we have the funding available to purchase them.
Event Presence:
Travel and Vending Expenses: ~$1500
Custom Tent and Signage: ~$1000
Apparel and Gear:~$1500
We think this will be one of the most important pieces of what we do. We want to have a presence at high profile sporting events as this will be the best way to connect with athletes and sports fans in a meaningful, personal way. We will be able to most clearly share our vision and inspire them to join alongside us to use their athletic passions to change the world around them.
Eventually we want this to include the biggest events across every sport, All Star games, Super Bowls, Final Fours, Worlds Cups, etc.
Practically, we will start with a few big Disc Golf and Ultimate events because again that is where our personal passion lies and where we have connections.
In order to get started there are some significant costs we will have to incur before we can get out on the road.

We will try to keep these as low as possible by finding local connections for places to stay as often as possible. Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover the expenses for our first 3 events to get us started.
We will also need to purchase a custom tent and other vendor booth materials to have a highly visible and recognizable presence at the events we attend.
Finally we will need to purchase enough apparel, accessories and other gear to have a good selection at the events we attend.
Once we get the ball rolling these events should generate enough revenue to fund themselves, bringing in enough revenue from apparel and gear sales to cover the costs of attending these events..

We effort to do as much of our basic design work as we can in house but none of us here at PFM are actual graphic designers. As we grow we want to continue to add more sport specific lines of apparel and gear with their own unique PFM logos. We also want to add more interesting apparel designs such as graphic tees that we will need to have created for us.
