This Gofund Me page and all funds collected will support Platt Tech, Milford CT.
A record 14 Platt Technical High School students won the statewide SkillsUSA competition and are headed for nationals in Louisville, Kentucky — if they can raise $19,330 to get there.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives; working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. It helps each student excel. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. It was formerly known as VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
SkillsUSA is the only national organization designed exclusively for students preparing for technical, skilled and service careers, including health careers. It is the student's professional organization.
Platt Tech has a record breaking 14 students that proven themselves locally at Connecticut’s state wide Competition on March 31st.
These Students will go on to the National Event this June to test their talent & abilities against the nations local state winners. Platt Tech can use your support to help fund their flights, hotel, food, and gear that Platt Tech plans to pay for without expense to students. Estimated cost per student is $1500.00, we are looking to raise 20k for Platt Tech before June.
Coming up with this sort of money to get to nationals for the competition can be impossible for most students. Any amount will greatly help these student realize their dreams. Although Platt is a state school, there is no state funding avaiable for the competition.

Last year, 11 student from Platt attended with help and support of community donations, with hope of the same support this year we will send 14 students to nationals in June.
