En Venezuela, los niños son los que más están sufriendo la crisis humanitaria que está viviendo el país donde cada vez es más difícil cubrir sus necesidades primarias como son salud, seguridad, educación y alimentación.
El hambre se retrata en nuestros patios escolares. Se ve en el desmayo del niño que ya no escucha el Himno Nacional, en aquel que está muy débil para salir a jugar y correr; peor aún, se aferra a esos ojitos que ya no pueden atender la clase.
Nosotros, America Developing Smiles somos una fundación sin fines de lucro 100% voluntaria que tiene 20 años trabajando por Venezuela recabando fondos en USA para el funcionamiento de los colegios manejados por la Asociación Damas Salesianas. Allí se forman a más de 3.400 niños y jóvenes para hacer un mejor país con educación de calidad y valores cristianos.
Hoy lo que hacemos no es suficiente. Son 13 centros educativos ubicados en comunidades de alto riesgo y muy bajos recursos, donde ahora más que nunca escasea la comida. Con el estómago vacío, el futuro de nuestro país no puede ir a la escuela
Necesitamos tu ayuda para proveer una comida y merienda diaria completa y balanceada #platicosllenos a los alumnos de la Unidad Educativa María Auxiliadora de Corralito y del prescolar Mamá Margarita en Petare y así garantizar su educación.

In Venezuela, it is the children who are the ones suffering the most from the humanitarian crisis. Unfortunately, it is increasingly difficult to meet their primary needs such as health, safety, education, and food.
In our schoolyards, we see the harsh reality of this hunger epidemic plaguing our children. Some are too weak to simply go out and play; others are fainting from weakness and for some just staying awake in class is increasingly challenging with such lack of nourishment.
America Developing Smiles is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization that has been helping children in Venezuela for the past 20 years. Through fundraising activities in the US, ADS has been able to support several schools managed by the Asociación Damas Salesianas. There, more than 3,400 children and young people receive the quality education and build the moral fiber needed to build a better society.
Even with all our efforts today, it is not enough. There are 13 ADS educational centers located in high risk and very low resource communities where, where now, more than ever food is dangerously scarce. This generation of kids is the future of our country, and that future is in serious jeopardy. Without a foundation of proper nourishment and general wellbeing, we cannot build a framework for a sound education.
We need your help to provide a complete and balanced daily meal and a snack #platicosllenos to the students of the Educational Unit María Auxiliadora in Corralito and the preschool Mama Margarita in Petare to guarantee their education.
