Plastic Free Curriculum is a non profit startup designed to provide pre-K - 12 teachers with classroom ready units and lesson plans focused on Plastic Pollution. We also offer teacher workshops, school assemblies, and in class student workshops for all grade levels. We also offer extracurricular lesson plans for groups such as Scouts, and after school clubs.
We are in need of start up money for licensing, to pay for copyrighted materials usage, office supplies and travel expenses.
We are geared up to start offering curriculum at all levels and working toward our 501( c) 3 status.
We are passionate about the fight against single use plastics. Plastic never goes away, it always ends up in the Oceans and in the food chain. Babies are now being born with tracees of plastic in their bloodstream. Animals and sea life are dying every day from eating plastic they mistake for food. Plastic does not biodegrade, it only breaks down into tiny pieces called microplastic. The only way to stop it is to cut it off at its source. To do this, education is needed, which is what we are doing with Plastic Free Curriculum.
