Piper's Breast Cancer Journey

Donation protected
Message from Piper..... This journey has shown me that I am stronger then I could ever imagine. Fighting through the obstacles that have been thrown at me with the help of my amazing family. I'm coming up on the 5th year of this horrible disease taking my Mom away from me and my beautiful daughter. Who I can't imagine tackling all of this alone. She is my rock, my motivation, the reason I smile each and every day. I am half way through the chemo process, and I can honestly say I am breezing through it. Fourth treatment on the 10th & then two more! Yes I've lost my hair, but I am definitely embracing that as well. I appreciate everyone's love and support through this process. And I hope with sharing my story I can help someone else like everyone has helped me. The holidays are vastly approaching and I just want to spend these holidays with the positive outlook of spending many more holidays in the future. Love, Piper 11/1/2019 Just wanted to give an update on Piper. Things were going really well for her. She had started her Chemo, gone back to work as much as she could and was on her way to beating the crap out of the BIG C, but her wounds from surgery were not healing the way they should have been. Due to this, it was determined that she had an infection and she was placed on high dose antibiotics. A few days after the start of the medication, Piper was admitted to the hospital because of fevers. Piper has had to undergo a few office debridements of the skin that was infected at the surgical sites. It was decided last week that Piper would need to be admitted to the hospital again and have another surgical procedure to remove the expander so that the wounds will be able to heal. Chemo is currently on hold until further notice. Piper is not going to be able to work for a few more weeks and I am hoping to make another push to help get her through the ordeal and. It make her have to worry about her bills and all. Piper is such an amazing mom and friend I want to be able to make her life a bit easier at this hard time in life. Please if anyone can help it would be so appreciated. Please share this story so everyone hears about it. Piper is so young and had had to deal with so much in her young life. She is going to kick cancers ass but she could use some help right now. Thank you all. 8/8/19 Surgery went really well. Now the hard parts begin. Chemo in 6-8 weeks then radiation to follow. Piper is in good spirits this morning. She is surrounded by her amazing “Family” and friends. Together she will make it through this and kick cancers butt. Journey has just began but she has this. Thank you for all the support from everyone.l so far.

8/7/19. Update: Today is the big day for Piper. Double mastectomy today, chemo and radiation to follows. Everyone please say a prayer for her. The long road to recovery starts today. Piper is such a strong person and will kick some cancer butt. I can not tell everyone how much it means that you have supported Piper in her battle and recovery.

I am trying to raise money for a very close friend, Piper who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  Piper is 32 year old a single mom and until recently was renting a room for her and her daughter from another single woman.

Piper lost her mother to breast cancer five years ago and lost her home as well which led her to renting a room for her and her daughter as she was unable to afford an apartment on her own at that time.  Unfortunately the owner sold the home and in an incredibly short time Piper had to find new living arrangements. While in that process she discovered the lump that  has now been confirmed to be breast cancer.

Piper did find an affordable apartment which is going to give her a larger healing space as she enters this battle with breast cancer.  Piper and her daughter now for the first time have their own kitchen their own living room and their own rules.   While most people are entering cancer battles with no experience, Piper unfortunately has the experience of watching her mother's battle and while most of us are naive to the true expectations of the battle Piper is truly versed in it.

The purpose of this campaign is not to make Piper rich or to offer her some consolation prize for her plight, but to help ensure that she can afford that apartment for her and her daughter Brielle.  The lost time from work for chemotherapy, the recovery time from the mastectomy are not paid hours.  We just want to be able to give Piper a peace of mind to help make all the fears and worries just a little less prominent in her mind so she can focus on healing.

Having to face cancer after losing your mom to the same exact disease is daunting on it's own, being a single young mother presents many more challenges than most of us could ever imagine.
