Hello Family & Friends,
In August of 2013 my mom, Pina Stirpe, was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and underwent 6 rounds of intense chemotherapy and an excruciating surgery to remove most of her stomach. And yet, her cancer returned stronger than ever and with great vengeance. We were given no hope for remission and our worst fears became our new reality. According to her doctors her cancer was incurable and there was nothing else they could do.
My mom is the strongest, kindest, loving and most wonderful woman in the world. She is a loving wife, mother and grandmother - the centre of our family – a true matriarch! My 2 brothers and our families refuse to accept life without her and together we are fighting to hold on to her because the alternative is not an option.
We travelled to many doctors in Ontario and her prognosis was worse than we feared. We refused to accept their professional advice and we knew in our hearts that something needed to be done. We wouldn’t just sit back and wait for cancer to take our mom from us so we decided the only thing left to do was to FIGHT! We began our own research. After many sleepless nights, hundreds of phone calls and many internet searches we found hope in a clinical treatment only offered in Germany. This clinic has had success in administering chemotherapy directly to the affected area without harming the rest of the body. To our family we had finally found a glimmer of light! We finally had HOPE!
My mom has been in Germany since early January 2017 and has undergone the first block of treatments and by the Grace of God it is working! We are THRILLED! She is now eating and has energy to actually walk around – something that was only a dream a few short weeks ago. This clinic is giving hope to our family and to the families of several other stage 4 cancer patients from Ontario. Other patients that were told by their doctors that there was no hope. All these people were sent home. “Nothing more could be done.” Well, we will not let cancer win. We are fighting and will continue to fight!
Unfortunately, this treatment comes with a very steep price tag and we need your help. Please donate! We need your prayers and your financial assistance. Any little bit will help bring our mom home to us.
