Phyllis Rollins Medical Fund
Her students have setup this fund to allow friends to make a financial contribution to offset her medical expenses. Let's help Phyllis focus on getting well.
As always, she has been touched by the outpouring of love and concern. Phyllis sends wishes for a happy holiday season and a HEALTHY New Year!
After meeting with her surgeon she learned that she will have a lumpectomy in mid-December. The doctor believes this will give her a good outcome and she feels very good about this plan.
Following the surgery, she’ll have radiation and then be on her way to complete health!
Phyllis is excited to share this positive news and looking forward to being back in full strength in 2016.
As always, your support sustains her and Mickey.
The Charlotte Observer recently published a story about Phyllis and her local yoga community that rallied around to support her. You can read it at http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/community/south-charlotte/article42960348.html.
Lastly, Phyllis is thrilled that she is no longer the only Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher in Charlotte. Over the last weekend, Erin Bailey and I passed the Intro I+II assessment.
If you live in Charlotte, come join us for a class at the studio. And stay tuned for our celebration of Guruji's birthday in December.
Nonetheless, the 10 days following treatment continue to be challenging. She had a short hospital stay last week to manage dehydration as a result of the treatment. Several tests were run and Phyllis was relieved to learn that there were no other complications.
Going forward the doctor will work to head off the dehydration with larger doses of fluids immediately following the treatment.
Phyllis and Mickey continue to find strength through all the support offered by their community. The donations, prayers and thoughts all help.
Thank you again for all you are doing to make this journey a little easier.
