Help Me Fix My Teeth!!!

Donation protected

Greetings, friends! As most of you know, I have been in the throes of  painful, frustrating dental drama for about three years now.  I have endured several broken teeth, four root canals,  a few recurring, life-threatening infections,  and have had to extract a few teeth that were broken and infected beyond repair. I currently have at least two more broken teeth and a few more that are coming loose.  I'm really, really over it.

The good news is this: I have dental insurance for the first time in my adult life! I was finally able to see a dentist on something other than an emergency basis and they were able to diagnose the issue rather than just perform damage control after it gets too late to salvage anything.  Turns out I have a genetic periodontal condition that causes a lack of bone between my upper teeth and my sinuses. All of my symptoms and difficulties are completely in line with this diagnosis. The little bone material that is there is broken in a few places and needs to be repaired and reinforced in order to prevent further damage. It's possible. It's not even especially uncommon. I'm thrilled to have an answer that isn't "maybe you should have flossed more in your teen years."

The bad news is this:  I just cannot afford it. This winter was very hard on my wallet and my work was slow at best. I am still recovering from a few large, unexpected expenses (also related to my health) and my copay is just not in the cards anytime soon.  My teeth don't seem to know that, however, and they continue to come loose and break and contract infections and just generally cause me an awful lot of aggravation. I sometimes joke that it would be cheaper and easier to just yank them all and get a quality food processor, but I recognize that this could be a reality if I don't do something about it soon. I also recognize that these recurring infections are not to be tempted or taken lightly.

And so, because this is how we do this these days, I humbly come to you, friends, family, and strangers of the Internet, to help me out with the expenses related to this procedure, which I have broken down as follows:

$600- copay required for procedure (which may or may not happen in two parts)

$300- the approximate amount of income that I will sacrifice during my recovery, because capitalism is like that.

$50- supplies for recovery (gauze, antibacterial mouthwash, etc.)

$50- food/nutrition during recovery (protein powders, soft foods, etc.)

Thank you for considering/donating/sharing! I am deeply appreciative of all help that I may get for this, as I am just so looking forward to this no longer being a hindrance to my life. Be well, everyone.
