Photography Journey to Uganda

Donation protected
This November, an organization called the Journey of Hope is travelling to Uganda - and they have invited me to join them to photograph the trip and to expand my Death Penalty Photography Documentary Project.  For me to be a part of this incredible experience, I am responsible for fundraising $1800 for the cost of the trip.

What is happening in Uganda?  The Journey of Hope team of murder victim family members, death row family members, and exonerated death row prisoners will be touring the Ugandan death row, visiting an orphanage for the children of prisoners, speaking to churches, schools and government officials, and participating in a conference to kick off the founding of a new organization dedicated to ending the death penalty in Uganda.  The photos I take will be used to advance the plight of those affected by the grave injustice of prisons and executions – not just in Africa, but in the United States.

We are going to Uganda to put a human face on the death penalty as our team tells personal stories of devastating tragedy, but also speaks to the transformative experience from violence to healing as each of them calls for forgiveness and compassion for all of humanity. And we will be there to listen to the stories that the Ugandans have to share as well.

For more than 15 years, I have been documenting the death penalty in the United States: execution vigils, death chambers, portraits of the innocent, weeping family members, and so much more.  I am asking for your support as this project expands beyond our borders and into the next chapter of this project.

Please join me by making a donation to fund my airfare to Uganda.  The world needs to hear this story - and you are a part of the story when you give.
