FIGHTING CANCER

Donation protected
We wanted to give an update on Dad. He went home to be with the Lord after his long hard fight with cancer that started on 9-2016 till 5-2019. He fought till the end and will be missed by many!

We wanted to thank everyone for the financial support, cards, words, prayers and verses of encouragement. They have meant a lot to Dad as well as the family! We could not have gone through this difficult time without the amazing out pour of love and support.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as Dad will be missed. It will be a time of many emotions but we know that God will give us the strength to get through the upcoming year.

I will leave you with one of my favorite verses!

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.      Isaiah 40:28-30

The fight against cancer cannot only devastate your stamina, immune system, ability to work but also your finances. Since I can remember, I saw my father as the “picture of health”, tall, strong, handsome (people told me that he looked like Kenny Rogers) and hard working. Even the flu would not slow him down too much! However, one day he felt sharp pain in his stomach. After many tests, going from how to treat heartburn to more comprehensive ones, the diagnosis of esophagus cancer was given. We never expected something like that! In few short weeks he lost 60-100 pounds. Then came the first round of chemo and radiation to try to reduce and stop the cancer. Then came the radical surgery to remove the esophagus… then after the long recovery, more chemo and radiation.

My father always worked driving big Mack trucks or as a mechanic. For the first time in his life he didn’t have the strength and stamina to do neither. In this line of business, no work means no pay!

Although the health insurance covers a good part of the cost (70%-80%), the rest is still expensive. We are working hard to keep our living expenses going but getting to the next round of treatment and nutrition is proving difficult. This is why we need your help.

It has been a difficult time for our family. We feel blessed to have such  great parents.

Thank you so much for taking time to check out our link!

Any considered donation towards the next round of treatments is appreciated.  Any amount helps!
