Hi! My name is Drew and I am a transgender man. I have wanted to start taking hormones for the past couple of years but have been unable to for family reasons.

This semester I have finally overcome the family conflicts surrounding hormones, and began the process of making an appointment with an endocrinologist. Today I received a phone call from the doctor I have been trying to see telling me that they are ready to start seeing me. I have an appointment for Thursday morning.

HOWEVER, this semester I was also hospitalized for psychiatric reasons which led to my mother essentially cutting me off emotionally and deciding to stop paying for my living expenses. I am stranded with $40 in my bank account.

I fully intend to get a job next semester, but it does not make sense for me to seek employment with one week left and 2 days is not long enough for me to put together enough for the copay and transportation.

I do not yet know how much the copay will be or how much the hormones will cost once they have been prescribed, but any amount will put me closer to being able to pay for this urgent medical treatment.

I need this so badly, I have had an emotional rollercoaster of a semester and being comfortable in my body would make life so much more bearable right now.
