PFLAG Grand Junction

PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is a national non-profit organization. Our chapter in Grand Junction Colorado is raising funds to help get some of our 2018 goals get up and off of the ground. Some of the goals we have are as follows:

-Mental Health first aid training for at least 10 of our members

-Supplies for our meetings (snacks, printer ink for printable materials, t-shirt designs, buttons, etc).

-Scholarships for small out of town speaking events or support meeting to reach those in smaller less supported areas along the western slope.

-Funding seminars and educational workshops that require outside speakers (e.g. providers, known figures in the community, etc)  from other areas or within our own community. 

-Raising money for academic or personal scholarships awarded to adult or youth members of our community on the western slope or across Colorado.

-Purchasing a website domain.

-Securing future meeting space.

-Establishing a mentorship program for adults (18+) within the transgender and non-binary community. Eventually the entire LGBTQ community but our needs are gender based in Junction for now. 

Any donations towards our non-profit chapter will greatly benefit our current members (allies and LGBTQ), the youth in our community, and maintaining our supply closet! Our transgender and non-binary communities struggle most on the western slope and we hope to continue to spread outreach and support!
