Pet Patrol is an entirely volunteer-run, non-profit organization in the Kitchener – Waterloo area. We began 20 years ago in recognition of the overpopulation problem of felines in our community. We give cats a second chance and an opportunity for a full life as we are a NO KILL organization. Pet Patrol helps cats that are abandoned, homeless, and in need of medical care and comfort, to find new homes. We are a registered charity and rely solely on donations to cover our extensive veterinary costs beyond spaying, neutering and vaccinations (we don’t receive any funding from government or the municipality). Other health care services, including chiropractic, homeopathy, specialized surgeries, dentistry and testing, to name a few, are provided so the best care possible is given to our feline friends.
Pet Patrol is a cage free feline rescue organization and primarily uses foster homes and our cat sanctuary to house and love the homeless felines we rescue. The sanctuary allows our cats and kittens to roam freely indoors, in a home-like environment that includes memory foam beds and a big screen TV. At this time our current cat sanctuary is not meeting our needs, so we are in the process of building an addition. This will be two stories and will incorporate feline friendly architectural features with housing for the hundreds of felines we help find homes for every year, and a dedicated kitten space. The addition will open space for playing Hide and Pounce, comfortable places to sleep, lots of perches and big windows so they can soak in the sun (after all, cats are believed to be solar powered!), and enriching furniture and equipment to promote health and wellness. We need your help to make this addition a reality. We have already secured some donations to start building, but need more funding to build the specialized climbing shelves, cubby holes, sensory activities, and to purchase enriching toys and equipment for the space. We are hoping to raise $10,000 dollars to support this project and create a one of a kind cat sanctuary. Any support is welcomed and very appreciated.
