Pepper needs some help

This is my buddy, Pepper Stebbins. 




Pepper and I met in Chicago in 1990. Pepper and I became fast and good friends. Pepper and I have shared some very special times and some incredible adventures! We spent the 90’s performing improvisation all over the country, fishing, camping riding our bikes and sailing. 

Over the years, as friends do, we grew apart geographically but we keep in touch.  Whenever Pepper and I get back together we pick right up where ever we left off. It’s THAT kind of friendship. 

Recently my communications with pepper started to become odd.

Now anyone that knows us does not find that surprising. Pepper and I share a penchant for odd, fun and funny communication. 

But this… this was different. 

I reached out to Pepper’s brother, Trevor to learn that Pepper has been diagnosed with  “Frontotemporal Dementia.”

As pepper would say, “it’s a baddie.” 

Pepper and his family are up against it right now and they need help. Peppers wife Joanna and their two daughters, Sienna and Jillian have moved in with Trevor and his family to facilitate the full time care that Pepper needs.  They are doing everything they can to take care of pepper but it is very difficult. 

As I said Pepper is my friend and I want to help Pepper, Joana and the kids. 

Here is what I am doing.

Here are the details

First there is this Go Fund Me campaign:

 This has been a sudden and harsh blow to pepper and his family. Pepper is in a place right now where he can not work. Joana is the sole income for the family. I am asking for your help.  Please give whatever you can, every little bit counts. This assistance will help Pepper Joanna and the kids as they navigate this cruel disease. There is no cure for what Pepper has and the only treatment is managing care. This has been and is continuing to be a long, intense and expensive process. Your help will provide some relief of  the intense burden Jo and the kids are going through.

Next, The party: 

Anyone that knows pepper knows he loves a good party! So, on April 20th, 2019 we will host, “The Party  for Pepper” or, “The Chilet Soirée!”in his home town of Madison Wisconsin. Save the date. Make the trip!

Seriously, it’ll be a trip.

This party will be an opportunity for pepper and his family to take a break from all this and kick up their heels and see some dear friends! The party will be an evening of fun, laughter and music with many of Pepper’s friends performing including; Pat McCurdy, The Ingenious Whittlers and the Whiskey Mountain Family! Acts are being added all the time and we will be publicizing the party more as it takes shape!

Please save the date and make it to Madison, its gonna be a fun one! As we prepare for and plan the party please consider a donation. No amount is too small and anything will help ease the burden that has been bestowed upon Pepper, Joana, Sienna and Jillian.
