Pepe's Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Pepe is the light of my life, a classic dog saves human story. I adopted him a year ago from an animal shelter, he was an unhealthy 50 pounds with all his bones showing, and I was an wreck after a breakup and a car accident. I saw his face, asked if he wanted to be my dog, and he wagged his tail and licked my face. I promised that I would protect him. If you've met me or know me in some capacity, you've met or heard (a lot) about Pepe. He's an 8.5 year old Cattle Dog/Staffordshire Terrier/Dane mix who likes getting his belly rubbed after eating, hogging the bed, and hoarding his Lambchop stuffed animals. He's also been my near constant companion for the last year – he is a gallery dog, protector dog, running and adventuring partner, and of course my space heater when I'm cold and need some snugs.
About five months ago, a red spot showed up on his stomach. This spot recently turned into an open wound and appears to be a hemangiosarcoma. Last night we had to take him to the ER because he wouldn't stop bleeding, and I was told he needs surgery, a biopsy, x-rays, and a consultation with an oncologist to confirm and get him stable. This doesn't come cheap, and he needs surgery within the next two days so that we can see what we can do. He's young and otherwise healthy, and I can't imagine a world without him.
If you've ever met Pepe, please consider donating. I can't even begin to convey how greatful I would be to keep my best friend happy and healthy.
