Please help us gain control of this feral kitty colony!
We NEED to stop the population from growing!!
At the beginning of this summer, 2016, we estimated 30-40 cats and kittens. We successfully trapped, spayed/neutered, and released 17. Then the funds ran out.
Our estimate is approximately 20-25 more cats who need to be sterilized. Our mission will not be complete until every cat on site is altered! However, with every week that goes by, females can get pregnant and give birth, increasing the population. Also, winter is coming, and we really do not want young kittens having to brave the cold. The larger the colony grows, the less likely they will all be fed and stay healthy.
Cindra Anderson and Animal Allies have greatly helped us learn the skills to successfully trap - neuter - and return these precious lives. Cindra has been a valuable, reliable coach throughout this entire process. Trappers are ready. We have the equipment and some experience under our belts. We just need some financial help to continue and complete this project. Thankfully, there is a local, low-cost spay/ neuter clinic in our area: The Barbara Grice Memorial Clinic operating adjacent to the Pensacola Humane Society. They offer a 'feral package', which include spay/neuter, ear tipping, and a rabies vaccination for $35. Each kitty also, for $10 more, recieves a FVCRP shot, for a total of $45 per cat.
Won't you sponsor one or more cats and kittens? With each surgery, hundreds of kittens' lives are saved, and the cat altered has a much higher quality of life outdoors.
Please consider donating to help us complete our mission and help this colony survive and thrive. Spay/neuter controls the population, but it also makes for a happier kitty and colony. No more fighting amongst the males for the ladies. They can relax and play and just be kitties.
