Peer Recovery and Resiliency
Donation protected
I'm lucky, because of my artwork I get to travel and meet some amazing fellow first responders. I've asked a few of them to come to Edmonton, Alberta and talk about their mental health recovery, resiliency and post traumatic growth. These emergency workers have taken part in some of the most harrowing and catastrophic events of our time. This symposium will be a peer based support event with other first responders from across North America learning from the experiences of these brave men and women.
These speakers will share how these events changed their lives but more importantly what techniques and strategies they use to get mentally healthy, maintain their psychological well being and build resiliency. These methods can be adapted by the attendees to help in their own recovery and post traumatic growth.
We are still short of our financial goal to break even on this mental health initiative and are seeking more sponsorship to cover our event costs (speaking fees, hotel rooms, travel etc). All profits from this symposium will be donated to the Legacy Place Society that supports first responders and their families in times of crisis.
Here's a link to the symposium event page and more information on our speakers: PR&R Symposium
Thank you to everyone for your continued support of my efforts to lower negative stigma and raise awareness of mental health injury through my artwork - for all emergency workers.
Respectfully,
DanSun
